Pool Escape
A 2023 pool-area upgrade pairing a raised wood deck with a curved concrete route from the backyard to a side-yard utility pad.
The project
Two overlooked transitions became one connected backyard.
Urban replaced the pool's former stair setup with a broader raised wood deck, creating a defined platform beside the above-ground pool and existing patio.
The second part of the work added a curved concrete path from the backyard, through the wood gate, and toward the side of the brick home. A rectangular concrete pad at the end gives the trash bins a dedicated surface.
Four visible parts of the update
Deck, entry, route, and utility surface.
Each piece answers a practical point in the yard: the pool edge, the deck entry, the gate-side route, and the place where the bins sit.
Raised Wood Deck
A broader deck now occupies the pool edge where the earlier stair platform stood.
Steps & Rails
Visible steps and rails define the connection between the deck, pool entry, and patio.
Curved Path
A poured concrete walkway follows the side-yard route through the wood gate.
Utility Pad
The route ends at a rectangular concrete pad used as a dedicated bin surface.
Concrete in progress
The route took shape inside the forms.
The original silent project footage documents the curved walkway and rectangular pad during placement, screeding, and hand finishing beside the brick home and fence.
No spoken audio is present in this 26-second project clip.Finished details
