Restoration
A Charlotte project combining a dark-charcoal segmental block retaining wall with grading, leveling, and erosion control on a steep backyard slope.
The project
Reshaping a steep, eroded slope with a retaining wall and a level upper yard.
The Charlotte property had a steep slope marked by erosion channels, exposed red clay, and an aging split-rail fence. The lower portion of the yard was difficult to use and needed a more stable, intentional transition.
Urban excavated the eroded hillside, installed a long-run segmental block retaining wall in a dark charcoal finish, and regraded the upper yard to create a level, stable surface ready for sod and future landscaping.
Retaining wall & site work
What changed
The transformation brought three connected parts together: retaining the slope, reshaping the upper yard, and addressing erosion across the site.
Retain
Urban installed a long-run segmental block retaining wall in a dark charcoal finish along the slope.
Regrade
The upper yard was regraded to create a level, stable surface above the new wall.
Prepare
Erosion control was incorporated into the project, and the upper area was left ready for sod and future landscaping.
